ARRIVAL OF GROUND
ZERO STEEL

Photos taken on December
6, 2002 as the 750 pound piece of WTC arrives at L.A.F.D. F
S 88 in Sherman Oaks, CA. to it's final resting place.
Members of the famed Urban Search and Rescue team were on hand
for its arrival. These same men and women were among the
FIRST in the world to be called up on 9/11/01 with
California Task Force 1 to go and assist at Ground Zero. In
fact this 70 member team was the only plane in the air the
evening of 9/11/01 flying out of March Air Force Base in San Bernadino to the East Coast. They were supported with tons
of equipment that went with them and was also shipped by
FedEx as needed for their 10 day stay in New York. FedEx went
on to ship the 750 pound piece of sacred Steel across the
County as a donation and also made a generous donation to
the building of the memorial as a benefactor. Also in the
photo are Joe and Debbi Lanza and Family. Joe was key in
conceiving the memorial an helping to acquire the WTC steel
from New York. The Lanza's were the key force behind the
Memorial.
